Probably going to drive. Thought about riding out and doing the 100k instead but my wife doesn't need the car so will use that instead.
Does mean a first outing for my bike rack so will probably have to drive at snails pace as I would like my bike to still be there when I arrive

So was my missus'. Henley Hilly Hundred, on a singlespeed Langster!
It's on again this weekend and she's a bit sad she missed it.

@hippy At least its a true introduction to it!
@camel_toe good luck with the bike rack. Met a guy on Thurs who's carbon bike was crushed when his friend reversed into a boulder after they'd finished the PBP!

Yeah I may put it inside just thought it might be agg with the mudguards fittes
-
• #9856
Use the rack for less aggro. Last thing I’d want to do is try and get my bike into a car after a long ride.

CSB alert
I have a Ford Galaxy which can accept two 56/57 cm bikes in the back with all wheels on.
Very simple, one in forwards with the middle seat of the middle row up, the other one in backwards.
I've also got three kids bikes and a BMX in along with a week's worth of family related holiday tat. I was so proud I took a photo

Ended up doing the first 100k of the GMC with the group and then turning iff and doing the last 100k solo. Nice ride. Tough.
Amazing to get that window of weather between awful days. Chapeau to anyone that did the whole 300.

Rowlands Ramble yesterday- my first 200km.
Fuck me it nearly killed me. Not ideal weather conditions and I must get stronger front lights as those lanes in pitch black were terrifying.

Will I get a letter about renewing or whats the process?
-
• #9862
No letter ASAIK, you "might" get an e-mail.
Looking back, apparently I had a renewal e-mail January 2016.

Good job on getting it done! Glad it was as hard as I remember it to be... how welcome was the pasta at the end?
-
• #9864
I was in the final 3 so pasta was a bit cold. Plus I had to get to the station to get home to Tottenham!
Lunch control at Rowlands Castle was tasty - vegan chilli with couscous and tortilla crisps.

Oh, winner - I think I roughed it with a Co-op feast, I'd much prefer a hot meal!

You can just login to the site and do it.
They usually send an email reminder if you've not done it after a while.Edit - just logged in and my renewal isn't due until Jan so can't do it yet. Membership doesn't always tie in to the audax year.

"Your membership is valid until 31st December 2019, so you do not need to renew your membership at this time."
Looks like I need to set a reminder for Nov/Dec to renew.

Did you know you can now pay your AUK membership by direct debit? It's less hassle than a standing order and ensures no gaps in your membership (vital if you want a guaranteed place on #LEL2021).It takes 30 seconds to set up: https://www.audax.uk/news/direct-debit/

The RRtY really is a tough one to get.
I've rode my last four months on 30th June, 31st July, 31st August and 28th September.
I just can't get ahead.
-

I had similar issues, almost resorted to taking a day off midweek in August to get mine done! Only 3 more to go though.
-
• #9871
Ah cheers, that should make life easier. I'll sort it out.
-
• #9872
I still have 5 to go. And these are the toughest 5.
-
• #9873
I started mine in winter which helped with getting the shit ones done first but the biggest problem was trying to fit 200s in when I was trying to train and race TTs during the summer.
Do it.
-
• #9874
Yeah, well I've got 2 young kids. Well time consuming.

Sorted.
I'm away, so ended up doing it as a DIY about a month ago towards an AAA SR.
It pissed with rain for half of it but I got round. Never gets any easier...
