  • Sounds like you have a clue.

  • Not even half a clue....makes me dangerous. :)

It's been so much fun noodling with this stuff though. I was so bored with playing before I started.

  • Maybe I won't bother upgrading from my Squiers

  • This is really helpful mate, thank you! Very well explained. Mostly spending my time trying to get to grips with a banjo at the moment and neglecting the guitar but this could be just what I need to reinvigorate my utterly vanilla soloing efforts...

  • How on earth is it that I've only just encountered Paul Gilbert and Guthrie Govan? Both just absolutely astonishing.

  • Both superb players!
I'm enjoying Bruno Major at the moment I have to say...

    .

  • Wow. We finally agree on something. Bill Frisell is a major dude.

  • I bet we agree on more than you think, I'll have a new guitar you'll likely approve of to post tomorrow evening;)

I love Bill Frisell though, he seems like a really nice dude too! Like the sort of person you could jam with and have a great time regardless of ability levels.

  • Squier mini acquired and she loves it. Ta!

(no guitar for dad yet though - but borrowing a standard Squier strat from a chap up the road)

  • Squier mini acquired and she loves it. Ta!

Cool! I tried out a Guitalele the other day. It's good fun and certainly better than a lot of other small/travel guitars that I've tried. It's still a pretty chunky neck and not very resonant at anything higher than about the 7th fret. Better than a ukelele for sure though.

  • Nice! I honestly love mine. Goes everywhere with me.

  • Has anyone ever tried a Ceriatone amp? They look great and they're, relatively speaking, cheap as chips!

  • :)

  • That's hot!

  • Hard to beat a white strat. Nicely done. 60's reissue?

  • '62 AVRI neck (1992).
Early 80's MIJ Squier body refinished in nitro by Derrick Nelson (local legend luthier/ guitar builder in Dublin, has done work for Clapton, Def Leppard, AC/DC, Glen Hansard, U2 etc.).
    All Fender hardware.
    Van Zandt Vintage Plus pickups.

    Traded for my Ibanez RGT220A...

  • Very nice, I couldn't play my strat
    if it wasn't white... #racist

  • That’s beaut.

  • Hard to beat a white strat

It really is. Other colours don't really do much for me, but in white it's about as handsome a guitar as I can think of.

    That's lovely.

  • Appreciate the Strat love, I'll take some better pictures this evening!
It feels great though, neck is much slimmer than I expected but feels so fast. I'll probably go for heavier strings, think they're 9s on it and they're buttery but might go for 12s, have 13s on my other electrics... thoughts?

  • Very cool! Looks like a mint version of my roadworn strat. I know it’s a bit snakeoil-y but the nitro finish feels a lot nicer than poly.

  • Has to be nitro!

I bet that sounds sweet through the Vox!

  • I have considered getting my strat body redone in nitro, late 70s Tokai but poly... 🙄
