No guarantee he won't try to pull another stunt but YESSSSSSSSS!
Especially good that they ruled this IS a court matter, which may prevent others from trying to do the same.

Does that mean if he tries to do it again immediately, he will be in contempt of court?

Justice boner
It's Lord Justice Boner thank you very much

Is this a case that the current suspension of parliament remains, but future prorogs will be more heavily scrutinised?
Will they recall parliament? -
• #24011
Oh I really don't know.
But the fact they ruled it IS a matter for the court means the government excuse of "just politics, nothing to see here" didn't fly. So I -suspect- that excuse won't fly anymore if anybody ever tries to suspend parliament for "reasons"
Which I am happy with because suspensions also means any laws that were in progress now get set all the way back to new! It's a waste of time doing it abruptly like this.

It doesn't remain, and it's up to the speaker as to what happens next (according to Guardian).
So he'll be making a few more enemies amongst the ERG, I suppose.

Didn't age well thankfully :o)

The ruling was that the current suspension never happened.
Parliament was not prorogued. -

Lord Boner in the Supreme Court. Lords Justice sit in the Court of Appeal.

If we're going to start doing this to all the ridiculous predictions stated with Dunning–Kruger-like authority here, this thread is going to be become hilarious.
(Not to say that applies to Mashton, who I'm sure was just reporting what he had been told)

At least those grants are resulting in some jobs.

• #24020
So future prorogs won't be more heavily scrutinized?
Or we don't know because the ruling was not about that?
I'd image there will be lots of blog posts from experts explaining whatswhat this week, time for a little reading up for me.

I’m too sensitive to go check, but how are the Brexit media reacting? Imagine Mail/Express/Tele/Keunssberg are having conniptions trying to spin this.
