  • A friend has asked me to help her fix two punctures.

    Sounds easy. Not quite. See the attached pics. How should I proceed?

  • I'd fix the punctures in situ. If it wasn't for the chain case I'd probably have taken the wheels out.

    So, flip the bike over or in a stand, hit the tyres with a good blast of air, see if you can figure out where the punctures are by listening to it come out.... peel the tyre off nearby then pull the tube out and patch it properly.

    If you find it's a snake bite type puncture then those wheels and chain case is gonna have to come off. Front is easy, looks like there's some quick release type thing for the roller brake reaction arm, not so much for the rear and that chain case...
