Thanks Pythagoras! If I could find a box that they'd fit in that might be a solution, but that's considerably more arseache than just bundling them up in some bubblewrap and a couple of jiffy bags taped end-to-end. I have a suspicion that if I take them in like that they'd just look at the overall length and reject them.

I've regularly sent stuff that's a bit over size. Honestly reckon you'd be fine. It's just a news agent your dropping it off at, not a post office so they're not too fussed about it as long as you're not obviously taking the piss

The more properer wellies are the Dunlop ones though
I actually had those for a while, they're ridiculous.

The conical washers for Thomson seatpost, where can I get a pair without actually buying the full set of nut and bolts?

Are there any good apps for tracking my bank accounts. I keep having DDs rejected as I never have the right funds in the right place at the right time. It would be good to see what is due to come out when, and at what point my overdraft will be breached.

Moneydashboard?
It has a panel (planner) that shows expected regular transactions. you would have to link your various bank accounts to it though so it depends how comfortable you are with that access.

In the same vein... my wife ordered chicken layers pellets (25kg bag) got ostrich pellets delivered instead from amazon... standard returns policy is £4.50 offered for a courier
It's too heavy to 'post' I'm guessing a courier to pick up and drop off if somewhat more than £4.50.
I suggested a scathing review to get their attention but there's no other way to contact themWhat should we do?

Unfortunately, as is always the case, I need it in the next few days so I suspect the turnaround would be too slow.

The onus should be on them to arrange collection as you've not been sent what you ordered.
Go via Amazon CS, make it clear you're not returning it because you don't want it, but that you haven't received what you paid for. They should either sort out the postage or refund you. Even if it's a 3rd party seller I'd have thought they'd be able to sort something out or do the dispute on your behalf.

anyone got a recommendation for a decent quality cheap online kitchen worktop seller.
there are a wide range with very much largely positive reviews however almost exclusively there are some customers who have suffered really poor quality materials - filled, split staves, bowed etc. Wondering if anyone had first hand experience. Also is it worth paying by credit card to get Section 75 protection - would it help if the worktop (say to was oak) started splitting in 18 months time?
Cheers

Got mine from here and pleased with it.
https://worktop-express.co.ukWasn't the cheapest as got solid wood and needed fairly deep worktops (IKEA cabinets so had the cabinets away from the wall because they don't have the recess inside) and they were also 4m long.
Oak Wooden Worktop 4M X 720mm X 40mm - about £300But for normal 620mm deep, 3.2m long and a little thinner then the price drops off a lot

That's good; to have a real person who's used them; looks great btw. I mean
We need
3000x620x38
2000x620x38
2000x920x38
Or similar
we're on a tight budget BUT if we can decent (Axiom/Duropal) laminate for 400, the temptation to have solid wood for 50% more is strong
The diagonal is just over 90cm 😀📏📐
