In Colorado recently I arrested my travel via an ablative technique, which resulted in a fairly large area of raw skin.
I used suitably sized adhesive clear plastic dressing, then an adhesive bandage to wrap around the dressing to hold it on. The plastic layer sealed the wound, with the bandage providing a bit of structure.
A smaller version of that maybe? Gaffer could replace the adhesive bandage if you prefer.
