  • He'll say Corbyn is a coward and call it the surrender bill.

    You're welcome.

  • Can the govt bring forward the leave date from Halloween to this week to avoid the bill currently in the Lords?

  • I am fairly sure that'd require parliamentary approval. But I don't know.

  • WTF is all the racket in the background? Who's singing?

  • Soft as f**k on him. Useless

  • Nothing of substance has happened. Should have gone to bed...

  • Spot on. Cap doffed.

  • The leave date is part of an agreement with the EU.

  • Up to this point, only seen him doing economic reporting where he's mostly been sound. That interview, though, was not robust journalism.

  • Peston's a nobber, John Macdonnall came across pretty well.

  • Agreed.

Tuned out now. This stuff should be on 7pm at the mo, not 11pm... it is where it is due to parliament timings etc.

  • Seems about right

  • A fortnight ago I was genuinely worried about the BoJo Cummings machinations.

    Hahhahahhaa.

  • Cummings is the latest in a long line of PM advisers who've been made out to be some kind of strategic genius. It turns out that he's an egotistical twat who has just had Jeremy Corbyn and his advisers run rings around him.

  • Not even a meme.

  • So it looks like we're going to have an election at some point very soon, ish. How that going to play out ?

Surely Cumming and Bojo know something we don't ? do they have a pact agreed with the Brexit party. Would that be enough to get the Tory a majority ? there going to be nearly wiped out in Scotland whatever happens losing at least 10 of their 13 seats and a pact with the Brexit party is likely to alienate the 5 million plus tory voters who voted remain at least. Hopefully Labour will plaster every bill board in the country with pictures of Boris in Farage top pocket!

On the other hand Expellarmus Ress-Mogg was on News Night last night saying they had 620 candidates that were going to fight every seat. Can the Tories fight with the brexit party over the 35% of racist lunatic, could that win them a majority ?

Labour are too leavey for remainers and too remain for leavers. So I think Labour are likely to loss a few seats but only to the Lib dems. I think the tribal nature of politics in the midlands and the north means that the torys are unlikely to make enough gains even to cover there losses in Scotland.

So I hopefully the Tories / Brexit party won't get near a majority and perhaps we end up with a coalition of Labour and the SNP and an agreement with the Lib Dems over a second referendum (I can't see them agreeing a coalition) And the price of the coalition with the SNP, indy ref 2 (Please don't go) after a second brexit ref.

That's what I'm hoping for at least.

  • Surely Cumming and Bojo know something we don't ?

In my experience people who tout themselves as being the smartest person in the room frequently are anything but and their hubris makes them prone to being humiliated in the most public of fashions. If this shit wasn't so serious I would relish the prospect of this happening to two cunts who thoroughly deserve it.

  • Not seen this interview yet (I posted before it went out) but will check it out. Just trying to challenge this idea that he's a 'tory shill'. I've never seen anyone serious describe him as such.

  • Yeah, I'm cautiously starting to think the same way, but that might be my own hubris!

  • I've seen it said before a fair bit, but would've happy to be proven wrong, can't say I was though.

  • You know Boris will blame everyone but himself and his team if he loses. It'll be the fault of the Brexit/Tory split vote, lying remainers, the dishonest lefties, a population undeserving of his genius and so on. At no point will he look at himself and see a problem.

I once knew a company founder and CEO who, on firing 70% of his staff, asked a friend of mine "What could I do to avoid this... I was only the CEO". Boris is like that guy.
