Tyre grip, overall weight, wall texture, q-factor... loads of variables.
Kate's stupid-light TCR doesn't balance well. My own road bike did. Touring bike sticks. Track bike doesn't so well. C'est la vie.

I've got a brick outbuilding that I'm going to keep my bikes in.
I've also got a ground anchor and a big Kryptonite chain from when I had them in a metal Asgard shed.
Ideally I'd have the bikes on bike hangers - should I just put the ground anchor under the hooks, feed the chain lock through one of the frames and then lock them all together?

I’ve noticed a lot of insurance companies are specific about bikes being locked independently to some immobile. I think locking bikes to each other might fall outside that.

Had a similar set up in my last place. Put an anchor on each wall and hung a big chain through the frames between them.

I'm with the Admiral as well... bikes need to be locked in a garage or out building to an object that can't freely be moved ie a bike rack etc. I'm in the process of sorting mine out at the moment as I've been slacking

Finally got round to putting hooks up in the brick built shed after moving in with my girlfriend about 6 months ago.
Door is alarmed and very secure, probably won’t secure the bikes together. Would be kinda pointless as the shed has power and and tools to break any lock.

I thought as much. Oh well, I guess I'll get some vestigial internal security sorted. Surely they must realise once a thief is in an outbuilding, all this sort of thing does is make them spend a couple of (out of sight) minutes longer in there?

Hi all - trying to hang two bikes off the same mount in a not too offensive manner - anyone got any suggestions? thanks

Bought two of these of a forumer
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cycle-Products-Aluminum-Bike-Rack/dp/B01782H9E2?camp=1634&creative=6738&tag=buro9They’re exceptionally sturdy and well made but I no longer have any need for them as I now have the shed pictured above.
Any use?

You can obviously have them flat against the wall unlike above

Thanks - potentially - trying to initially work out how best to maximise the space, and get the nod from the gf on the aesthetics front. In my head I had something like the below with an additional ridge in it, but am wary of it falling to bits in 5 minutes...

4 hours and a very minimal amount of blood shed later...
I read somewhere 7 hours and 2 people for assembly. The only bit i needed help for was sliding the top on!

Mine took about the same time...
So. Many. Nuts.
So. Many. Bolts. -

Did you find a half decent deal somewhere for it or just paid £££?
Did you do a concrete base to bolt it to?
(Sorry I never got back in touch about the ground anchor)

Anyone got any experience on the safetly of using https://www.cyclehoop.com/product/lockers/vertical-locker/ ?
Theres a large bank of them near me and I've been offered a spot.. mostly thinking in terms of security..

Paid full price from b&q. Went with the more expensive trimetals one vs asgard as b&q advertised a 14 day lead time and we were under time pressure. 2 weeks passed and no word from delivery company. Rang b&q, turns out they outsource it to another seller, who buy from trimetals, who advised the lead time is actually 4-6 weeks! I pointed out the blatant error on their site and that i had paid more for this over an asgard as I expected to have it sooner, but in actual fact it took longer. They have offered a gesture of good will, but it's tbc what that is.
It's a seriously nice bit of kit but I'd probably have just gone with asgard if I'd known all of the above in advance.
It's not bolted down yet but I'm hoping the 35mm slabs it's sat on will be sufficient to bolt to. I'll let you know on Sunday...

I think I might need to move some bikes to the back garden - is it pretty much a choice between Asgard and Trimetal for secure metal storage sheds?
Anything I particularly need to consider before weighing out £500+ on one of these (much cheaper than divorce!)

What's the current forum-approved vertical wall mount for a bike with wide-ish (35mm) tyres?
BB height might have an effect if the center of gravity is further above the rotation point?
