OK, also have a look there. On one bike silver wouldn’t fit also.

Anyone know of anything that's out there for 20" wheels wider than the Bluemels that seems to exist in 53mm width (though I've yet to find anywhere that actually has them in stock).
Edit: Alternatively, if I reshape a metal guard to a smaller diameter, will it get wider or narrower?
There seems to be some availability of already fairly wide metal guards for 24" wheels on ebay.

Cheers, not cheap but probably as good as it's going to get eh?!

I reckon some must exist for dutch cargo bikes, I'm on a mission to find some as I don't fancy paying VO prices £££££

Oho! I didn't realise you were joining the dark side. That another Stayer build?
-
• #4185
Yes! Maaaybe I’ll even have it before the end of the TNRC season. Fingers crossed.

I didn’t even realise they existed in a 60mm version. 53 had been the widest I’d found so far.
Do wonder if it’s a typo but at that price it’s probably worth s punt.

I have some in both 60mm and 65mm. I think the newest addition is 700x60 and 700x65.
I bought my first set of 26x60 more than three years ago. -

I run the 700x65 on my 29er. I like them though they're relatively short (need flaps) and do sometimes bump around.
60mm 20 inchers sound GREAT though (and look very affordable) for the future minivelo build. Though apparently the VO minivelo can fit Clearance for 2.3" tires WITH fenders, implying I would need 20inch 65mm ones.
Definitely going to be cheaper than the VO metal 20 inchers though.

I know they do 60/65mm guards, I have the 26" version, just hadn't seen the 20" ones for sale in that size anywhere.
Might be worth mentioning though that I'm really not a fan of the 26" x 65mm ones. I think the weight of that big a guard is too much for the wee skinny steel stays so I found they bounced around and rattled and rubbed really badly.
700c versions will surely be heavier and with even longer stays so I don't think they'd be something I would want to use.
And yeah, coverage on the 26" x 65mm ones is rubbish, defnitely need a flap.
And just so its not a whinge about SKS guards in general, I have 700 x 45mm Longboards and love them, they don't bounce or rattle nearly as much.
Hopefully the 20" version will be lighter and the stays stiff enough to keep them from rattling too badly.

I actually think Flinger make better mudguards than SKS when it comes to wide stuff. I've fitted their 26" x 60mm guards to two of my bikes, they have extra thicc stays. Also they come with the mounting hardware attached already which is one of the fiddliest bits of setting up SKS guards. Big recommend.

Not heard of these before, thanks for the heads up.

https://www.lfgss.com/comments/14731686/ couple of pics like this on this build, can see the stays are a bit thicker, nice rubber mudflaps etc etc etc

I just fitted 45mm bluemels to my vitus Energie VR, and have 2 issues:
The thru axle handle fouls on the bolt that attaches the rear stay.
The rear stays are borderline too short.
To solve 1 I think I either need some low profile bolts (is this even a thing?) or a new thru axle. Anything else I could do that I haven't thought of yet?
To solve 2 I think I need to either find somewhere I can buy longer stays, or drill a hole in the rear mudguard so that the whole thing can rotate to get closer to the bottom bracket at the front.
Anyone else with more experience got better ideas?

Is there a thread here (looks like you have them on both seat stays) to mount the mudguard stays?

Point it down instead of up?
-

There is, however the stays aren't even close to being long enough if I try to mount them there. Presumably that's for a rack?
-
• #4197
Point what down? The head of the thru axle? It only seems to be able to go in so that when it's tight the handle is just about vertical?
-
• #4198
Bummer. I've had similar issues with front SKS stays not reaching to mid-fork eyelets. I reckon the inside seat stay eyelets are intended for mudguards. You might need some extra long stays. Which is another bummer as the point of SKS is that they're affordable. Hopefully someone will come along with a cleverer idea!

I see. On any I’ve got, you tighten them up but then can pull out the lever and turn it without tightening or loosening the axle.

Are the extensions on the stays the same length?
Neither, I'd get 65mm SKS.
