Two Cannondales stolen from Osney Island - just a head's up, my mate had these bikes nicked from his back garden at the end of last week. Built them for himself and his wife, very sad to lose them. Not insured because insurance ran out last month and the idiots had been sending reminders to his previous house. Despite insuring the current house.
If anyone sees them offered for sale or locked up anyway, please PM me:

Does anyone still meet up for beers? the Oxbeers thread seems to have gone quiet.
-
• #459
I haven't heard of any Oxbeers happening for a while. There were a few tiny alleycats held a while back but that seems to have died a death too :( If anything alleycatty happens nowadays The Broken Spoke will probably know.

I know that this Oxford forum is pretty quiet, but I'm just reposting here in case it's of interest to anyone who has missed it.
Claudia Comberti was killed a few days ago in an accident on the Botley road. Claudia was a keen cyclist, and a member of the Broken Spoke co-op.
There is a rider down thread here: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/304659/#comment13630256
And there will be a memorial ride at 7pm tonight on Broad Street:
http://bsbcoop.org/there-has-to-be-change-9-5-17-claudia-comberti/This will be a vibrant and visible ride. Wear colours and neckerchiefs. Bring things that make sounds, like bells, horns, instruments.

Well all threads with 'Oxford' in them seem to have been dead for years but anyway. I'll be in Oxford next week (work) and might be free 28th &/or 29th if there's anything happening anywhere. Failing that, where should my colleague and I go for a few beers?

George Street has a range of things. I can’t find the name now. It there is a (expensive) beer tap room about half way down that is different but very nice for trying slightly more unusual beers. George Street social is you want something a bit more relaxed, the food there is good I’ve found.
If you want food then the pizza at then White Rabbit behind the theatre can’t be beaten. No reservations taken and always busy, case of find a seat and sit in it.

It's been quite on all the Oxford threads for quite a while now. I assume you won't have a bike with you? But still plenty of places to see in the centre of town.
The Daily Info has a fairly comprehensive listing of all that's on in Oxford and surrounding area https://www.dailyinfo.co.uk/Re: beers:
The Turf Tavern is worth seeking out if you want old and characterful in the centre of town https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turf_Tavern
If you like Thomas Hardy and Inspecter Morse try The Lamb and Flag https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamb_%26_Flag,_Oxford
Or The Eagle and Child opposite for Tolkein and CS Lewis https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eagle_and_Child
Try Raoul's for a cocktail bar experience http://www.raoulsbar.com/
or as C4r1s has said any of the pubs / bars on George Street for a standard vertical drinking experience -

Thanks, good to have a few options.

Haha, thanks - will almost certainly have to check out the Morse/Tolkien pubs. No bike unfortunately but not much spare time anyway so just as well.
Might have something for you. PM'd.
