A grass seed entered between the toes and worked its way up into his ankle, causing an abscess. And a castration involving one undescended testicle.

I know it hurts, but I should be the one whining given the damage to my credit card...

Those grass seeds are a bugger - my boy needed two operations just to get rid of one. The other horrifying aspect is that if you don't find them, they can get into the bloodstream and cause heartattacks. Hope he's enjoying the drugs.

Sod him, it’s me who’s going to need the drugs.

Seriously though, grass seeds are a nightmare. Lambeth left the grass in all the parks around Brixton to grow longer this year, and we’d come home from our walks covered in them.
