I travel with these:

20,000 mah portable charger. I get 2-3 charges on my 13" MacBook pro out of this, and for £25 it's not a bad price.

These are great multi-cables for the price, and well worth having in your bag for just over £3. The short ones live in my work and travel bag.

And this is a great charger USB thingy with UK/EU/US adapters for £8.

Normally, when travelling, I use the wall charger to charge up the portable charger and then power my MacBook off that with the USB-C cable. And in the meantime charge everything else off the multi-cable when needed.

Would anyone like to take advantage of my student discount? I think it gets you 10% off Macs and iPad plus free Beats - which you can obviously sell to recuperate the costs.

Anyone know if it’s a one per student kinda thing?

Running a restore from a Time Machine backup on a MacBook Pro. It’s been running for approx 48h now, copying 460GB from an USB 2.0. external HD. Or actually a 3.0 connected to a 2.0 port.

It ran the initial restore and then “hangs” showing the Apple logo and the fully loaded status bar. The HDD light keeps blinking steadily giving me the impression that it actually still is doing something.

Am I too impatient and should I simply let it run or?

Well I didn’t kick it, I did interrupt it. It was my second attempt actually and both restores seem to have stuck at 413GB.

First restore interrupted by me after 30 hours and the second after 53 hours. Both stuck at 413 GB. I’ll install Lion first and take it from there.

That sort of goes beyond the purpose of a restore / back up doesn’t it?

Installed Lion first, then went to El Capitan and from there I went to Mojave.

Migration assistant worked a charm and we're good to go. Changing to the SSD makes a HUGE difference, so much faster.

Borrowed a 27" cinema display for the day. Made me realise that my beloved 30" has had its time. Colours are vastly different. Time for some LG loving? So much monies though...
