I think there's an argument for just accepting bikes sometimes creak.
Yeah I mean older, tired bikes will.
Modern stuff really shouldn't. It's a bad sign, means something is moving and that means something is wearing out and that thing might be integrated in to the frame...

Put a 1x10 drivetrain on my BOTE, new Easton bars and seatpost, gotta change the bearings in the wheels a bit of play but then hopefully done.
Found a control tech seatpost, some Larsen tt tires and a rohloff chaincatcher for the Franck Roman.
New bars and xt brakes on the Stars and Stripes, gotta play around a bit but it’s getting there

Need some help identifying whether a chainset is BB30 or BB30a
Distance from the shoulder of the lockring to the end of the splines is 88mm - the spindle is marked "A3134-109L"
So I'm thinking this is BB30A/73mm BB shell?
cheers

You could hear me creaking from several bike lengths away unless I serviced and greased the BB every other month. Then I got a Hambini BB. Peace and quiet ever since.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't run a Cannondale Synapse as a winter/light touring rig. I already have a CAAD 12 which is a lovely summer runaround.
It's just all the previous conversations about BB30s and creaking brackets has
me peturbed. i have no worries on the summer bike but winter up here in Yorkshire can be really damp. -

i've been using my BB30 SuperX in disgusting conditions for a few years silently. I can't say the same for my threaded road bike used only on nice days
Mine doesn't. At least this week anyway.
