The new Vitus 2020 gravel bikes, glad to see they're continuing the fun colours, seem hard to beat on price, even the etap

Can you all stop scaring me about gravelkings please, going touring for 10 days this month and didn't get around to buying new tyres. I've had a lot of punctures with them, but strangely none when I've been out in the sticks. Let's hope it stays that way.

Shame their frames keep cracking, also they've only got clearance for 35s

Consider the cheap and cheerful vitus substance sora..clears 45.. and it’s steel!
-
• #8833
Also their carbon frames are really rigid, I replaced mine with a steel frame, and its much more comfortable.

Plenty of time to buy extra tubes!

that is disappointing, guess you can't beat the "new bike pick two" out of nice frame, nice components and affordability

Did you make these yourself?

The alloy one was the ticket, 1200 grams frame, full carbon fork, SRAM apex 1 hydro, £800. Not sure if it's available anymore, maybe with Rival in boring black?

Sorry very late reply, but no, not this one. The French mag 200 did a long article on Decathlon relaunching the Riverside brand in 2020 with a affordable touring bike ready for an around-the world trip straight from the box. They've been working on it since 2016, have a team of 10 people on the project, bought 25 bikes at full rrp from the competition for comparison, and have 150000km ridden on the several prototypes made. Basically, they have spent serious money on it -it'll be a bit of a halo product, to show that they can make a class leader, but at Décathlon prices. The big question (and the one I'm interested in) is, without brand cachet will it sell how it (probably) should?
I haven't found the article online I'm afraid, just pop to Cph and I can lend you the magazine :-) -

It sounds like a really interesting project.
I was able to digg up this webpage about the ambassador project.. sadly the pictures of the prototypes look quite a lot like Kogas to me - but then again, some people seem to like that.I wouldn't mind having a browse through the magazine. I'll give you a shout if I come by cph in the near future.

My Friend has the alloy one, looks to be very good value, also there is no huge difference between Apex and Rival. I'm sure the wheels will be cheese though.

Totally didn't notice that, but it seems to be according to the website. both rack and guards!
Tell that to the Schwalbe Almotions. They're mega tough and plenty fast. (650 x 2").
