Can't quite make out from the photo, who makes that cladding?

Torn ligament apparently but doc said keep it moving and it will heal on its own
Get yourself a physio referral. It might heal on its own, but the rehab will be faster!

As a colour ref, I made these from western red cedar finished in Osmo UV. Quite red (good), but a bit more glossy than I’d like. I think because you don’t bother wiping off the excess - like when finishing furniture - it builds up a more satin / gloss layer. Rain beads right off though.
If I did it again, I’d obvs go for LOOK cladding. Got the cedar form Southgate Timber if you do go down the non-branded route though.
Yes, I now need to paint the wall.

I'm planning on building some venetian fencing including a gate and was looking at red cedar. How have you finished the screw tops? filler?

Cheers.
The larch is cheaper too and has a nice mix of tones, which I quite like. -

That looks fanstastic, I might be building some planters for our back garden too soon.
How durable is larch out of interest?
Also do you know much about cladding? Can I do hidden fixings with regular T&G or do I need the special hidden fix variety?

I love it when you chip in to my projects, always save me some hassle or a fortune. Southgate timber do their boards considerably cheaper than my local supplier. Thanks!

@fox has larch in his garden, he'll be able to vouch for durability.
Never clad anything, off the top of my head I'd lean towards feather edge though, reckon T&G might look a bit off-the-shelf shed. I guess the nature of feather edge hides the fixings. Probs look into spraying a finish too, I'd guess feather edge is a sawn finish so brushing Osmo on might be a PiTA.

Looks amazing btw! I'd love a big shed like that, you're doing a proper job on it.

Hi, this plug cutting idea is great. Thanks for sharing that. I like making small gifts from wood so this would be ideal for me to get a better finish. Also, it made me think, my mate has a fab shop and he makes a lot of steel racking for shops. I wonder if there is a machine that allows metal to be cut and used as a plug? Or maybe if the screws were drilled deeper, they could be filled with a silver resin to cover the screws?

Ta. I think I'll Larch the sides and just use cedar for the front. £700 saving just in that.
In other news. Rubber roof has arrived. It's so heavy I can't pick it up. I attempted to get it into a wheelbarrow but it tipped over after a metre. Whoops. Fuck knows how I'm going to get it up high.

Would rep
Ha! Would LOOK rad this way, but I guess the cladding will give it a nice, elegant finish.
