Yeah but why did DQ let him go? When they signed him he was the hottest property in sprinting, seemed destined to win MSR and a hatful of Tour stages, then he quietly left Quickstep and has gone backwards ever since.

They let him go like Terpstra due to budget issues. I think he wanted a certain amount and Lefevre couldn't or wouldn't do it in the timeframe Gaviria wanted so off he went.

He's not had a great year but still has 4 wins and some more podiums but he's only got 30-odd race days.
