Have no idea if there are already stats or knowledge out there about this, but I wonder if sprinters are more prone to injury a la track (running) sprinters due to the type of specialism, and so have shorter runs of success? Similarly are track cyclists who specialise in shorter events more prone to injuries?
I don't know about if they pick up sprinter-specific injuries often, but I would imagine they crash more frequently, given the nature of bunch sprints.
