Firstly, I’m sorry that your brilliant ride was forced to finish early. As ever I’m in awe of how hard you all push yourselves, day after day. All the more impressive seeing as you were riding with a significant injury.
One thing to explore while I'm getting it fixed is to what extent it might have been behind my neck probs.
I also separated my shoulder a couple of years back in a crash and have a decent size ‘step’. It causes very few issues in life, but I do suffer a bit on longer rides with neck issues. My friends have said that they notice I hold my injured shoulder higher (maybe overcompensating?) and I think that unbalanced position causes some pain. I’ll get back to Scherrit at some point to see what he thinks and if it can be fixed with either fit or physio.
Anyway, hope the journey home has been relaxing and well done again.
So it appears that I have a separated shoulder, from my fall on day 1. Definite lump above the AC joint on that side, and the bruising is coming out now, a long yellow one at least a foot long wrapped over the top of my shoulder.
It didn't bother me when I was riding but in real life it is a little bit painful, and putting a T shirt on is a lot more challenging than cycling jersey with zip. Cycling 300km per day was a great anaesthetic!
