I have the norco with a spork. It's fucking awesome.
although might be selling f and f in the next few months

On a carbon fork? You aware of how much that costs to make? You also realise most carbon forks with a single leg bosses aren't a actually for racks but guards.
-
• #8704
Yeah there’s going to be extremely few carbon forks available for mounting a rack on
-

Just get two forks. Leave the rack attached to the steel one, put it on when you go touring, ride the carbon one the rest of the time. Only takes a few mins to swap over and if you're like me it's a few-times-a-year event. Brake caliper alignment is the hardest bit.

Do you have a picture of that?

Want that norco but it looks like it can only run 1x, am I correct? Any recommendations for a gravelish bike that'll still perform well on the road, very likely moving abroad for a year and will only take one bike. Vast majority of my miles are on the road at present but want the ability to explore, looking at the Planet X Tempest not really that taken by it bar the price. Also don't really wanna go alu or carbon. Thanks in advance

Looks lovely, want to buy it purely for the aesthetics. Do you have any idea/guesstimate of the largest chainring it can run? How do you find it on longish road rides? Many thanks

Like, can only see a complete at the moment and looks like it might be a bit beyond my budget.

Does the Norco have a DT bottle or anything cage mount?
-
• #8714
Yeah there’s going to be extremely few carbon forks available for mounting a rack on.
Hence ordering the Midnight Special fork with reducer crown race.
Surly a bit cheeky as the fork isn’t 100% thru axle.

Been looking at those clement 650b tyres. What you reckon?
-
• #8717
I’m quite impressed with how well they roll on the road expecting a bit more resistance.
it’s big and heavy but doesn’t feel like a chore on the road.Have yet to take it out off road, it does feel like a good tyres for touring.
I’m going to fit the Teravail Rampart on it tho, the Horizon I had tried leak too much (normally ok, but way too much pore being an old tyres).

I’m really happy with this bike.
In hindsight I’d probably have just bought something cheaper and saved the money but, now that I have it, I may as well enjoy.
Next step is to fit Dynamo lights and work out mudguards!
The only thing I’m a little disappointed in is the cable disks - they’re significantly worse than the rim brakes I had previously. Do I need to do some adjusting? I must be getting it wrong.

Sounds like some user error

If it's new, likely bedding in, adjusting or simply better housing.

The Arkose fork was to our spec to start with, a lot of companies use it now as we didn't pay tooling for it. But it was never intended to be used with a rack. Racks and carbon forks aren't a combo that I'm too comfortable with tbh. Would need proper ground up design, new testing and a compromise on added weight and stiffness.
I assume it's a cost thing.
The forks are stock they buy in. The bike overall is rocking a lot of features for the price. Compromise has to come somewhere I guess.
