I would 100% recommend the sleeper train*. Travel whilst you sleep and wake up on your bike holiday! It's not great sleep and it's a little pricey but you are paying for that convenience. Screw flying, airports, broken bikes, and being 30000 ft in the air, nope.
*New rolling stock from Serco is all over the place and the staff are pretty close to walking out. Worth noting.

I got one once but that was just for a chair, even then aren't they hugely expensive.

Thanks for the help guys, I think I'm just shocked at train fairs and durations after spending too much time in China. Will just have to suck it up.
