Out and about I mostly just D-lock the back wheel to the frame, Krypto Fahg is ideal for that, but I’ll do the frame to a railing if it’s available. At home while it’s temporarily living outside, I’ve got it tonky-ass-motherfucking chained to a wall anchor and it’s out of sight from the front of the house.

I need to persuade her parents first!

Thanks, trying to find right balance between secure and practical.

I have my Bordo Granit X-Plus or whatever the current iteration is called. Weight penalty isn’t a concern on a cargo, and it’s well rated. I never leave mine locked outside for very long though. Lock’s pretty fast for on-and-off.

We have fitted a pitlock skewer on front wheel to prevent that being nabbed (dyno hub so expensive) and use x2 locks to lock up our bike depending on scenario... we have a folding Abus Granite lock which fits into the bottle boss mounts (Bullitt sell these on their site) but it’s really limited in length... and then we have a English Chains motorcycle lock for maximum security. Nice and long so can fit around a street lamppost and still goes through frame and back wheel for maximum security. We have put inner tube over chain and store it inside a cut-off wetsuit leg to minimise noise when riding. It fits behind the seat when in use so doesn’t take up room. Always been uber careful as you just don’t want to buy a 4K+ bike going missing due to penny pinching or weight saving...

Maybe silly question but where should I look if I wanted to buy a second-hand Bullit?

There one on ebay right now, in London. Sorry I can't post a link from my work laptop
£1395 buy it now, alfine rear hub, it looks good.

Hiplock Homie or Oxford Chain10 (considerably cheaper) are both nice and long chains, from personal experience d-locks can be tricky if you're trying to secure a Bullitt due to the chunky seat tube.
Alternatively as mentioned above a small d-lock through the wheel/frame is going to make people think twice about pinching it if left unattended for a minute or two

Brilliant, fingers crossed it’s all good, I’m a bit jealous.
Don’t forget to let know the good news if you get it :)

I am now convinced that I am pretty much going to get the Bullit ..

Love the look of the Bullit, more than the Omnium (sorry Omnium owners)
Three problems for me
1 - can't carry primary school kids very well
2 - can't fit in my garage
3 - can't get through the barriers on the cheeky footpath shortcut I have near my house, which are how I get anywhere in that direction by bikeSo longtail cargo for me. But the Bullit looks great for taking a young baby on!

can't carry primary school kids very well
even with the canopy?
-
• #3096
No I love my Omnium, it does everything I need, child carrying, tip runs and shopping and because I can stand it on the front end it takes up very little room and can be kept in the house.
Also did I say its titanium too so it sub 15kg, I think my Gangsta nearly that heavy!

• #3097
pics? esp in child carrying set up?

Also did I say its titanium too...
Oh fuck, that's me off down the rabbit hole again...

As someone who's carried people (yes more than one) on a Bullitt, I'm pretty confident you'd be able to carry two primary school kids in it comfortably, unless you have 3+ or they're extremely big for their age.

also big old chain + bullitt with its own sturdy stand = mobile bike rack for fellow cyclists without a lock
I think she'd enjoy it.
