The only problem I've ever had wild camping was the South Downs Way.

The farmers there are pretty vigilant.

If you really want to be closer to Cambridge people have wild camped in Norfolk and Suffolk

Edit I forgot this is the climbing thread... Norfolk and Suffolk... Not great for elevation
