I've heard that the Sunrace derailleurs are made of cheese. If it ever fails on you zee will happily take up to 46 cog with this:

Once back, DHL texted to tell me my new 11-42 10sp deore cassette had arrived. Thanks @pit for the tip, everything now works perfectly. Plenty of chain/tyre clearance. A real jumble of a drive train, sram cranks, shimano cassette and shifter, sunrace derailleur.
