The weather kept getting hotter. Having gone down and up a hill and round a horse paddock three times trying to find a way through, I ran out of water. Thankfully the struggle to gather up the local farmers last pennies and wipe out any sign of free thinking resulted in a local church being built a few hundred years ago. Which now had a water tap handy. Refreshed, I pushed on. The bike did ok but I couldn't back pedal in the lower gears.
