I was expressing these thoughts a short while back to a recently retired junior not quite pro yet, who said he thought that actually most were riding clean these days, and that times generally had come down - certainly the current times are not world record standard. Perhaps that says something.
I have other crap theories btw.(oh shit...edit... I'm not suggesting for a minute that O'bree or Boardman's hours were done on the sauce)

Lets level the playing field
I suggest you go and read up on this specific subject, before you make a tit of yourself.

I'll have you know I make a habit of making a tit of myself on a regular basis, and am perfectly happy to be educated. Got any suggested reading?

Seems fair enough to me. They only applied for a tue after he'd failed two tests...
It seems a genuine accident, but for no one to check the banned list when they got some WiFi signal seems pretty sloppy. This kind of punishment incentives athletes and their teams to be better at this stuff, without ruining their career. -

He purchased a racing license that said "don't do a thing" and "did that thing". He could have not raced afterwards to recover from a limb threatening injury but chose to. He let a doc use a drug on him that even I vaguely know is not allowed but "phone signal".
TLDR strict liability is strict liability

I'm sorry, Andy, but that links looks like it's on steroids.

Another very good argument against legalised doping is that it will then become prevalent in junior ranks. Pushy parents are bad enough with equipment and coaches - there are already ones putting their kids on power meters, don’t let them loose on doping regimes that could fuck their kids up for life as well.
All it would take is for one moron to put their 12 year-old on a course of HGH, testosterone and EPO, and it’d be naive to think that wouldn’t happen if you normalise it amongst the pros, of which they aspire for their child to be one.

Anecdotal but in rugby that is when you do your doping: bulk up young on steroids before testing then stop but retain the muscle mass you have built.

Not sure how i feel about this protest. Would he have done the same if he won? Does that matter?

It's surprising because Australians are normally such good losers. He once got splashed too. Ain't no professional swimmer going to forget that time they got splashed.

I did a mini lolz when i read that too.

"Sun served a three-month suspension in 2014 for testing positive for a banned stimulant trimetazidine"
"Sun faces a fresh hearing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in September, after the World Anti-doping Agency appealed against a decision to clear him of a separate doping offence. "
If he was banned properly he wouldn't even be on the podium for Horton to protest about. Fucking drug cheat can fuck off.
The Chinese swimmers have been at it for years.

got to feel for the blind athlete being punished for what his guide did

Petacchi gets a two year ban;
Seems a bit pointless, given he's retired, but confirms what many thought at the time.

From a news article about the deathof Chester Williams, from South Africa's 1995 World Cup squad.
I don't know about what the other deaths were, and so it may be a lot less suspicious than it sounds, but lots of heart attacks of former athletes in their 40s isn't great.
His death comes two months after the death from a heart attack of fellow wing James Small, who also played in the 1995 final. Williams is the fifth member of that squad to die, following Small, the coach Kitch Christie, scrum-half Joost van der Westhuizen and flanker Ruben Kruger.

So Kruger had brain cancer and van der Westhuizen motor neurone disease, so maybe not.

Salazar banned for 4 years! In the middle of World Championships, Nike will be pissed.
That's inflation for you, it was 2d the first time somebody spouted that bollocks.
