  • Any 8 speed one, kmc one for about £15 is ideal. New chain = new sprockets too though!

  • On the subject of replacing chain and sprockets, what is the average mileage for a replacement for a chain?

    do you clean it ? how much do you weigh? how do you ride? what gearing? terrain? etc etc etc!

    1000-2000 miles for 100% maybe a guide! not helpful...

  • I usually get 1000-1200 miles out of a chain and sprockets on a 2 speed. When it's too far gone the chain is quite loose on the chainset and can sometimes fall off during the fold.

  • Always replace chain and sprocket even if it’s not that worn.
