  • Yes I can see why. But I had no problems for a year up until May, when I had to jettison my mudguard half way round a ride when a cable tie snapped and it was in danger of fouling my front wheel. I must have had it mounted differently but not sure I CBA to faff around with it to find out what I did.

    I expect I had the clip thingy mounted in front of the fork rather than behind so the mudguard was rotated forward a bit, so the stays were a bit higher and so clear of my foot.

    Other thing is that my new shoes are slightly wider at the toe.

  • I've got quite big feet so the toe overlap is just not worth it. I did try a guard again on the new bike and it was connection city so I ripped it off again immediately. I often scuff my shoes with the tyre.
