  • Update: looks like I'll have to take the front one off.
    I'm riding midfoot on flat pedals so there is always the chance of clipping it when I wobble on a climb. This wasn't a problem back in May when I last had mudguards on, but it was on my ride this morning - must have clipped it, always with my right foot - about 30 times. I don't really have time to experiment and fine tune it, so off it comes. Hope you have better luck with yours!

  • Yes I can see why. But I had no problems for a year up until May, when I had to jettison my mudguard half way round a ride when a cable tie snapped and it was in danger of fouling my front wheel. I must have had it mounted differently but not sure I CBA to faff around with it to find out what I did.

    I expect I had the clip thingy mounted in front of the fork rather than behind so the mudguard was rotated forward a bit, so the stays were a bit higher and so clear of my foot.

    Other thing is that my new shoes are slightly wider at the toe.
