Not really, no. Delgado got up the road, Millar's team went missing in action, there was some confusion on the time gaps, and by the time the Peugeot management knew what was going on and started trying to make deals with other teams to help him, it was too late.
Spanish teams helped more through inaction rather than working to make Millar lose.
It has happened in the past though? Didn’t the Spanish teams (and motos) work together to deny Robert Millar the Vuelta?
