Hmm, I'll importing the route to basecamp and see if anything shows up. I reeeally hope I don't have to go through and re-add all the POIs on basecamp though.

Adding poi's is very trivial in basecamp. Additionally you can choose the symbol to display.
Point and click.
Make sure you make a new list so that when you export the list it includes the track plus poi's.
