Quite a few had them on for TAW IIRC. Can do wonders for preventing grit-induced crotch rot.

Was great when it was raining for the whole first week and it was cold. But I won't take them on TCR.

Does anyone ride with mudguards for these races? I took mine off a few weeks ago on the basis of drag/ weight reduction, but the accumulation of grit in the drivetrain has been massively increased, as well as road crap on clothes/ bags.
There’s obviously a trade off to be made, but I’m lacking the experience to make a proper call on it. The prospect of riding through Sweden/ Norway in summer rainstorms isn’t filling me with joy...
