Nothing to stop you, though you may not want to - it's a potential headache for organisers and it could be interesting for you and an insurer's lawyers if you caused an accident somehow, or were blamed for it (INAL - just some layman experience of this area, if anyone does know the law in detail it'd be interesting to discuss that point). It's simply better to choose a different day. One rider makes no odds really but keep going that way and events may have problems, they need riders to self-police to some extent.
With these events, p-b-p and events like dragon ride, if the route is freely available, or/ and is signed what is to stop people just following along without entering?
