I din't realise that the penalty for not wearing a seatbelt was so low (£100 fine and no points)

Also amazed to see that more than a quarter (27%) of the 787 car occupants who died in crashes on Britain's roads in 2017 were not wearing a seat belt, figures show.
Given the number who don't wear seatbelts must be pretty small that's a huge proportion (although I guess there's a good chance that a high proportion of those not wearing seatbelts are drivers who cover a lot of miles).
