• Agreed. It's why I prefaced with with 'apparently'. I was with him, but didn't buy the 5km/h. The guy has an affinity for a heavy wrist, and I was quite far back as I don't like overtaking needlessly.
He alleges they said it was 5 above, they weren't particularly happy. It turned a bit heated.
Judging by previous scenarios, pretty sure he was way over a ton (mph).

The 6000 however, was a legit fine (or confiscation). Took him a while to pay it off. Whether what he said was true or not, we still argue about it from time to time.
The amount though really hit home.

  • 6000 is entirely possible, it just means that he was speeding by a lot more than 5kmh and 20 days of his previous year day rate equalled 6k. If he was Swiss, he would have lost his license too.

  • Agreed. My theory was by the time he saw the Police by the side of the road he was 5 over, but they caught him way further up.

@Jung He was on a week old R1 and having far too much fun to realise where he really was.
My point was the amount over the speeding. Speed all you want, you'll get nabbed ones day.
It was the colossal amount of money that floored me.
I've yet to hit up Italy. Mugello beckons!
