I’m pleased for him, he’s been consistently up there all race so deserved a win.

Strong work by Ewan! What a jump. Thought Groenewegen was in prime position, but he went too early I think. Always close with those two

Ewan deserved that. Great sprint. Sago went the wrong way round that train carriage.

Ewan followed the leadout man when he peeled off instead of DG then had to kick to get back on his wheel and still won. Not bad.

He said afterwards that he purposefully laid off Groenewegen so he could have a clear run at his back wheel, get the slipstream effect, then carry that speed past him.
To have lucidity like that in the chaos of a Tour sprint finish shows maturity.

Didn't see that interview; "Rush the gap" track craft in a TDF sprint is pwoper

Who’s the rider on the left of the road (right in pictures) who absolutely rages at his handlebars repeatedly in today’s finish?

Pasqualon? 11th place finisher. Can’t find any finish line quotes from him and wonder whether he’s just mad at himself of feels he got unfairly jostled.

Looked like he dropped his chain when well placed for a top 5 at least.

Scrub that. He was hit by a spectator holding his phone over the barriers. https://video-it.eurosport.com/ciclismo/tour-de-france/2019/che-paura-in-volata-niccolo-bonifazio-centra-in-pieno-un-cellulare-di-una-tifosa-con-il-casco_vid1221929/video.shtml

Maybe Ewan will stop whinging now he's won.
Oh wait, in his post-wining stage interview he complained about this being his first TdF. -

Thanks for sharing that. Couldn’t see the fan contact in the clips I’d seen, so that explains it - and just why he was so enraged.

Forgive me, I'm a foreigner who tends to watch itv4 or aus highlights. Been watching the euosport highlights a bit as youtube suggests it/lazy. Has kirby also been this dire? Or was there a golden period and we are now witnessing a tragic decline?

Always always awful.

If you like watching breakaway try and fail to form, watch live now. There have been constant attempts for about half an hour, and nothing has stuck yet.

Literally forever. He's an endless car crash stuck on repeat.
ewan, great sprint. was inevitably going to win a stage. Groenewegen has so much power tho
