Ewan followed the leadout man when he peeled off instead of DG then had to kick to get back on his wheel and still won. Not bad.

He said afterwards that he purposefully laid off Groenewegen so he could have a clear run at his back wheel, get the slipstream effect, then carry that speed past him.

To have lucidity like that in the chaos of a Tour sprint finish shows maturity.

Forgive me, I'm a foreigner who tends to watch itv4 or aus highlights. Been watching the euosport highlights a bit as youtube suggests it/lazy. Has kirby also been this dire? Or was there a golden period and we are now witnessing a tragic decline?
