Quite like this AEVIG - apart from the logo and the choice of typeface. The blue dialled version is very nice. Now I have opened a can of worms. There's actually a lot of choice out there.
At least it's distracted me from looking at dive watches with orange dials...

If it was 34mm my wife would probably take it. But I do like the vintage idea. Good shout.

Bit random, but I was on the Hackney site for something else and came across this diving club:

You got a bargain there dude. You will not be unhappy with it. And if you ever get bored....you know where I am.

It's the first watch that I ever lusted after, there's just never been a right time. I've bought other stuff in the last few years hoping to scratch the but it's never worked. I can't wait!

Double new watch day, having been away for a while.
An Ayrshire made Westclox (to join my Dundee made Timex.)
Secondly a Smiths Astral diver from 1968, which is going straight off for repair.
Chuffed with the Smiths I must say

Sorry, me with the black divers again.
This is the first time I have heard about the Citizen eco-drives, but you guys seem to really like them. Does that mean that this is the watch I have been looking for all along? What are your thoughts on value for money at that price point?

They’re great if what you want is a zero maintenance quartz watch. The tech is good. In previous discussions we’ve probably assumed you were looking for mechanical.
There are a couple of all-black Seiko Solar divers which is very similar tech.

Good price on that mate , and sensible way of making it cheaper by selling bracelet you don't want .
Pics when you have it. -

February 2019 - one of the last & it was bought at retail not from an AD in the grey market!

Guessing due to this you're not interested but I have a BB58 for sale. £2550, brand new, untouched. Hit me up if anything changes:)

@Stonehedge did you say you think Omega NATO's are or are not worth the cost? Objectively speaking, of course.
-
• #36847
It depends.
They're bloody lovely but I'm sure you can get similar for less.
However, if I had just bought myself a moonwatch it'd add to my enjoyment if I also bought an Omega NATO. Just adds a certain something to look down at your watch and know the collar matches the cuffs
My opinion, based on what I know of your scenario, is go for it.

@Stonehedge - thank you. You are right.

The Crown and Buckle supreme nato for $34 is basically as good, it just doesn’t have an Omega logo on the buckle.
The Omega natos are transparently a rip off but if you want the logo, that’s what you have to pay.

Just couldn't stomach the cost, so got an army green and black 'Supreme NATO' from Crown and Buckle. Look very nice indeed. Hardware looks great.
Depending on your budget, isn't this a good excuse to buy a handwinding, vintage 2 hander in white gold?
Personally I'd say if wearing a dinner jacket you'd ideally want something more like 34mm-36mm.
