To be honest the solder sounds worse,
It didn't go in hot did it?

A friend that makes knives got some swarf in his eye which is where the suction apparatus story came from, maybe it's a Bristol thing ha

It did go in hot! Left a brown spot in my otherwise blue eye that lasted for years! I also had to undergo an hour of "eye washing" to counteract the chemical burn from the flux.

I actually didn't realise what had happened until about six hours later as it went in so hot I didn't feel it.
