I've given it over to WoS... They can strip me bare.

Oof. Tough lesson to learn, sorry man. But always - watch on wrist or in protective case for me. Never take it off or put it on unless you’re on a carpeted surface, preferably sitting down.
That won’t cost £2k to fix tho, far less I imagine.

I was about to shower.
And even half that is insane... But it is what it is. It probably needed a service anyway. LOL

Photo was actually yesterday, using the bezel as the burger timer.

Sharkdiver today:
Managed to find a strap to go with the original buckle as well

the way I'd look at it is that it could have landed on a lug and damaged the case. instead the crystal came to the rescue and sacrificed itself. Much cheaper to replace a crystal than a case. A full service and new crystal might only set you back around £400 or so. Don't let any crystal shards damage the dial or it might get expensive quickly. My guess is that a £2k repair bill involved a new dial at least, if not a new case as well

I really like these

So nice. I nearly bought this on bracelet last week but another option I was considering came up at a price I couldn't resist. DHL says it should be here Monday.
The blue dial you have is definitely the way to go.

Ohh... Where did you get the strap from?

This one. https://www.watchgecko.com/zuludiver-cordura-premium-divers-watch-strap
It took some very minor trimming with a razor blade to fit. Can't find anything off the shelf that fits that tongue.

Shame someone took a biro to the right sub-dial, has a certain charm.

From a cursory google it looks like a case knife to just pop it off (protecting the lugs with tape). I’ve got my dads old identical watch which is also stuck fast so if you can wait a couple of days I’ll have a go at that and report back.
That’s a nightmare. Ejay2.0 may be worth a pm re. Repairs.
I feel your pain.
