Elizabeth Holmes is trying a fake news and conspiracy theory defence. If there are enough hard-core Trump supporters in the jury, it might even work.

Gary Younge on the self serving elite that runs Britain
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/jul/05/britain-run-self-serving-clique-crisis-narrow-sectionThere is a clear and undeniable link between the entrenched and calcifying class stratification in British society and the inept chaos in which we currently find ourselves. The gene puddle from which the elite siphons its ranks has become shallow and fetid.

Having read Carreyrou’s book, I think the scientific evidence should outweigh this distraction. It’s clear that Theranos’ claims for their blood testing technology were false.
-

You'd hope. The prosecution is certainly arguing that Theranos is on trial, not the journalist. That said, the judge has given the defence permission to dig for the kind of information they want to make this argument.
Of course, having read the book just makes us both dupes of the conspiracy.

Who do we think the touchy businessman is?
Would Phil Green bother going through all this again? Everyone knows he’s a rat.
I say Branson. Proper oddball that guy.

branson's a billionaire. they wouldn't miss that opportunity to narrow down the possible candidates.
-
• #57288
I can't see Branson in a pickle like that.
-
• #57289
Not as odd as his carefully constructed public persona might lead you to believe.

Ahhhh. Good point.
Don’t think Sugar is a billionaire and is quite odious.
Injunctions are futile in this age anyway so we’ll probably know by tomorrow.

Branson has previous, a mate used to work for him BITD... Might not be him tho'... Anyway, isn't he a billionaire?

Wasn't it an MP in the Commons that outed Green? Maybe he'd be up for letting another name slip......

These secrecy arrangements only work in the UK anyway. All you have to do is look to international press
-
• #57294
Link?
-
• #57295
I don't have one. I have just noticed that the Canadian and French press ran articles about Philip Green while everybody was still guessing in the UK.

Thanks. I think I have worked it out. Lol

Not sure this is the right place for this, but Channel 5 are running a 'murder all cyclists' doc tomorrow. Graun review of it has already had comments disabled because this Britain.

How wonderful.
Reminds me to watch Man on Wire again.
Interesting article. Green burials are a great idea.
Burying the dead along major road routes isn't a new thing - the Romans did this also - first thing that sprung to mind here was the Appian Way tombs.
