So, Chris King bottom brackets: I'm tempted to have a shot at a used one (steel bearings) for a reasonable price. Does anyone have experience with the serviceability of the bearings? After all, that's supposed to be a major selling point, and I don't have any issues with repacking the thing once in a while.
Does the promise of "high quality and if you service it, it'll last for a very long time" actually hold true in people's opinion? Looking online, I sometimes see very mixed reviews and it's hard to decide who to believe.
Isn’t the big selling point of CK is that they make their own bearings? Or rather, have races made to their own spec, which have a large number of smaller ball bearings. I’ve never had to service one of them.
