  • So, Chris King bottom brackets: I'm tempted to have a shot at a used one (steel bearings) for a reasonable price. Does anyone have experience with the serviceability of the bearings? After all, that's supposed to be a major selling point, and I don't have any issues with repacking the thing once in a while.

    Does the promise of "high quality and if you service it, it'll last for a very long time" actually hold true in people's opinion? Looking online, I sometimes see very mixed reviews and it's hard to decide who to believe.

  • Isn’t the big selling point of CK is that they make their own bearings? Or rather, have races made to their own spec, which have a large number of smaller ball bearings. I’ve never had to service one of them.
