  • Ah I see. Totally misinterpreted what you meant by falling apart. I thought you meant that the screwbar was removable without you unscrewing it.

    A dab of loctite would be perfect. Not sure which one to suggest though, would have to be whatever their most temporary one is. Maybe somebody else on here knows more about loctite!

  • A bit of further playing with it suggests the thread is a bit knackered. One bar screws up properly, the other one tightens and then just continues to spin and never fully tightens up. Will email Helson and see what they have to say.

  • It probably won't be economical to buy a replacement from Helson because of postage costs.

    You can buy them elsewhere though, some Bell & Ross and some Panerai models use the same screw bars.

  • If you get stuck give us a shout - they gave me a couple of spares in my Helson package and I'd be happy to send 'em on.
