Just watched the latest project binky.
The first episode was 17 Aug 2013.
Kinda just want to see it done now. Maybe Tarvish is the exec producer.

Discovered it only recently so I was able to binge watch it but really curious to see it finish!! The retropower series on Gordon Murray's Escort is also really really good but different

With Binky and all of those other full resto series, I keep having the realisation that they will have to take it all apart again, to paint, before reassembling. Just the thought of that amount of work terrifies me, let alone all of the actual effort they have expended thus far. It's incredible.

Thanks for this and other comments. I think I know really it's not quite right, they just look like such a laugh I'm trying to force it into my requirements!

I keep thinking about the paint too. But also (and maybe more important) the parts clean up.
So much of the build is in rough visual condition. They're not overly focused on the aesthetics, but there is no way all of those brackets aren't getting a matching coat of black, or that the various pumps and reservoirs aren't getting washed or blasted, and possibly painted.
On their current timeframe all of that alone is a years worth of work.

Saw a convertible TVR Cerbera this morning. Forgot how good looking they were, it's definitely aged well. You used to see them everywhere.

I imagine most have since been wrapped around a tree/lampost

Managed to get stuff to service the golf I introduced on here for £60 ish, saving me about £150 from going to a garage. Also found a tutorial on how to service my exact model on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmE2gFTaqmg
and got a Haynes manual

My corvette arrived a few weeks ago. Took a week to get it started, wiring harness was toast so just finishing up fitting a brand new one throughout the car.

Sadly I think it’s rust that has killed most of them- once the powder coat on the frame cracks the frame rusts through pretty fast.

sad to see this go, owned for ten years - longest I've owned a car for. I think it still looks good for a 20 year old car

Shitbox went in for a service today, new front rotors and pads, that was about it... $650... New engine mount next time but everything else is hunky dory... My courtesy car was a Toyota Echo, wow, made the Mazda feel like an F1 car... It was fine on the motorway tho', didn't struggle at all...

I remember reading about this very thing happening on a small bulk carrier thats now prrmantly "moored" next to the dome in Greenwich, "slice of reality" was saved when someone far too under equipped was sent to dive into the fuel oil tanks to r check the strainer. After a recent tank inspection and paint session, someone had left a large cotton sheet, it was being sucked up against the strainer starving the engine down to an idle, then wigh engine shut down would drop off, then run again until eventually the rag got sucked against the strainer again

Crossland is shite, it really is. Ive never had an oil filter come apart before using one of those.
Use it, but change it next time for a good one. TPS is genuine vag and you can buy as public. Will be same price as euro or gsf but your getting genuine -
• #48645
How tf are they going to get it out from between those two trees???
-
• #48646
Perhaps that's why they have dropped the price by a few hundred already....

I'm assuming the new transporter project is fresh impetus to get Binky over and done with.
We all love seeing brackets being fabricated but at this point just paint the fucker!

They've got the next project lined up haven't they - that De Tomaso / MG thing.
It doesn't interest me quite as much as the Mini, but then I've also watched the bus episodes and enjoyed them. The Murray escort on the other hand - a car that's right up my street, but I find the videos a little humourless to watch

Obsessed with those vids of people refurbishing old tools now, then making them look all sexy with Super Blue
