I like the bonus Scunthorpe strap but I'm disappointed that the blurb just described it as "football colours".

Reset your time so it is not 230. This will be pushed to the global clock and make all time the same as yours.

Cheers to whoever it was that flagged up the Liberty sale. Seems my girlfriend did manage to pick up a bargain half-priced Max Bill for my birthday

Which one?! I looked at those, was it the Meister Chronoscope?? Was looking at that and slapping a blue strap on it to tonally match.
They had the Mega in there too and had not seen that model before with the radio accuracy.

Max Bill Automatic. https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/stainless-steel-milanaise-max-bill-automatic-watch-400708.html
I was very tempted by the Meister Chronoscope but it was just too thick for what I wanted.

It definitely wears a bit thick, but its not so bad. Overly thick watches piss me off quite a lot and I still like mine...

Nice choice, top lady.

Me again, thanks with you help with the black diver watches earlier. While the CWC and the Trasers were interesting, I realise I am somehow set on the Seiko 5's fairly generic dial.
I see mentions of Seiko-modding on Instagram but hasn't managed to work out who does this. Any suggestions as to who to contact? And what sort of jobs the modders could do?
I am thinking that the price difference between a Seiko 5 and a CWC for example could go a long way to render a gun metal Seiko pitch black – if such a job can be done that is. -

This account I follow seems to post lots of good quality mods of the kind you describe. You could try dropping them an email to see what it costs and waiting times. Be interested to hear how you get on if you do.

Given that he's in the U.S., it'd probably be cheaper to find someone in the UK.

Most of the Seiko mods available are for the SKX007, SKX013, turtle reissue and “baby turtle”. Within those models there are quite a few sites.
Outside the UK, Yobokies is popular. DLW is worth a look here: https://www.dlwwatches.com/
Also I’ve not used Artifice Horoworks but they do one-off black coating which might be an option:
https://www.artificehoroworks.com/product-category/custom-seiko-watches/cerakote/In terms of mods for a specific Seiko 5 I’m not sure what you’ll find - some parts are interchangeable to a greater or lesser extent but not many (hands are easiest, some chapter rings can be, occasionally the dial).

This is a modded Seiko 5 I got from Yobokies
The original watch was:
but I just bought it as a finished, modded watch. His stuff is here https://s161.photobucket.com/user/yobokies/library?page=1
The sold album gives a good idea of what is possible. -

Sad day for me as this has died
It only cost me £30 so the cost of repair wont be worth it :(
Would any like it for free / spares?

aside from everything else that is wanky and shit about this - most frustrating is the crown height vs the massive gap they obviously need so that frosted class actually causes an optical blur.
-
• #36521
Edit, sorry - I won’t get around to doing anything with it...

I've found that the bars on my Helson don't seem to stay that tight. I was changing a strap last night and it just fell apart. Does anyone else find this? I'm considering a drop of loctite but not sure if this will make it too difficult to change.

What do you mean just fell apart?

The spring bars might be too small? You can buy replacements
What sort of madness is a 2.30 KO!
