Also a bit pissed off he's gone TS in the eyewear department... Seriously, find your own style, kids...

Ok, triple texting... Anyone Can Play Guitar is a great song, bloody weird construction but I love the chorus, and the other bits, it doesn't hang together very well but it's great nonetheless...

Whenever I see Thom Yorke I think of my old mate Steve who looked a lot like him, he was a fucking amazing drummer... OD'd right after he'd put a deposit down on a house with his fiance... Horrific... But everything turned out OK and we still love Steve... I love you, Steve... Be well... 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

I was drinking red wine when I posted that ^... All true but maybe too much...
I've done my left ring finger again, antibiotics and bandaged so open E tuning for the foreseeable... Stumbled on a lovely tune a couple of nights ago and found a B part for it yesterday, really lovely... Probably completely ripped but I love it, this acoustic just plays itself...
Always buy the best instrument you can, it'll inspire you to great things...

Oof - what happened to the finger? Can you get a slide over the bandage?
90% of the time I come up with a line or tune I love, I realise where I've lifted it from a few days later. Humbling.I'm still pissing around noodling over 251s. I'd never really thought outside pentatonic / blues much before aside from some mixolydian stoner rock diddling. It's fun. Every now and then I get this locked box, unlocking feeling.

Ruh roh, Fender have made the guitar i’ve been dreaming about for ages. https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/190603344339008--fender-vintera-60s-telecaster-bigsby-white-blonde-pf

Those Vinteras are pretty!

I’ve concentrated on bass at the expense of electric guitar for too long, so I’m trying to sort out a pedal board. I’ve been pondering drive pedals for a bit, particularly since they’re firing into an AC15 which doesn’t play well with some pedals - like my old Little Big Muff, which sounds dreadful. Any suggestions for fuzz that’ll sound decent with an AC15? I’m picking up a Rat on Monday, but it’s not strictly a fuzz. Also, after some time wondering why I can’t get the on-board spring reverb in the AC15 to sound right, I’ve concluded it’s just shit and I should get a pedal. What’s good?

Old age? Blister that I picked and got infected, not nice... Pustules... 🤢
ACPG guy is pretty cool, didn't realise he played a Super Champ... I must have one now, especially after him saying The Posies used one almost exclusively on Frosting On The Beater... He is definitely pushing all the right 'we should be mates' buttons...
But I'm more in the market for a JCM900... Gonna sell my AC15 and the Solton... 😟
And get both! 🙃

Ouch. JCM900s sound sweet but they seem to blow up a lot. Cheap though - so are the 2000s - I saw a 50w half stack for 450 notes here the other week.
I’m going to solder a tweed deluxe or die trying. I really would prefer a blackface deluxe reverb but that would probably ensure I die trying...

Just watched the vid. They are fucking cool little amps but murmuring about carrying that on the tube?? HTFU - I toted a JCM800 2 x 12 combo back from St Reatham to Bond St then up 8 flights of stairs.
Should have called that cnut the Marshall Backbreaker.

Ouch. Gross. Htfu buddy.
Adrian’s a dude. Great taste.
I still haven’t found a fuzz I love yet. Really like the Analogman sunface (fuzzface type) demos i’ve heard but there’s so many options when you order it’s kind of offputting.
I’m gonna order that Rat today as I need a more distortiony type things for occasional rock action.
What I really need tho is a giggable amp. I keep hoping i’ll Just stumble across something cool and affordable but it just doesn’t happen anymore does it?

Found a really clean '84 Fender Princeton Reverb II down the road from me... Very tempted... $1400 on Reverb so what should I offer, $1200?

I just made the cut on my latest build that I'd been most intimidated by - just had a total mental block on it in my head and couldn't visualise it. It's the bridge plane on the top of the body, and needed a fair bit of measurement before making it
My Les Paul now has all its body planes in (pickup and bridge, at 4.5 and 1.2 degrees respectively). Closing in on getting all the difficult stuff done...

Is every contour a different router template? Looks great.
-
• #6921
There's a few ways to do it, but yeah - I used seven or eight different router templates to get the contours roughed in. You could probably do it by hand I think, as it's not too crucial they're in the right place (although predictably there's discussions online as to which are the proper 'vintage' contours...).
Some people use a copy carver:
Which is a bit of a time / space investment to make.
I'd love to be able to do it with gouges and thumb planes, but I don't have the skill.Really struggled with it oddly enough - this was my practice run :o ...

Can't wait to see that guitar finished... What you doing to the top?
I found a very cheap 50W JCM900 today, $700ono... It's a dual reverb 4500, not my first choice but at that price I've really gotta get it... Might go grab it this week...

I'm back and forthing on the top. I'm pretty sure it'll be something similar to Mick Ralph's '58 :
Very faded, not too much red, close-ish to a lemon drop.
But then every so often I spot a really severe tobacco burst that looks amazing...
Definitely a burst though. Unless I mess something up and have to cover it...

I have found, the more LP bursts you look at to decide which type you like, the less able you are to make a decision...

Love this dude.
And then he posts this!!

Maybe I take it all back... I got this LP for my sixteenth birthday from all my mates...
