Ritchey is rad. Commuter?

It’s been sadly very underused, but intended to be a jack of all trades gravel/commute/travel bike.

Just need to get the brakes working without judder and I’m pretty much there.

Rides like a sofa with the 35mm tyres, got some 32mm G-one tyres as an alternative too.

Seems will suited to do all of the above. No desire to get matchy matchy ritchey cockpit? Or would that be overkill? I'm currently using a slick mtb for commuting and am also enjoying the sofa ride quality.

It’s got carbon Ritchey evo curve handlebars which are a nice shape.

Pro vibe stem is because it’s -10 degree, the Ritchey stems are all -6. Ideally looking for a 12-14 degree drop.
Either going to debadge it or replace with a Specialized pro set stem with adjustable rise.

Specialized 120mm stem added, set at -16 degrees.
Took the front derailleur off, added 52T 1x ring and 165 force cranks.

Dedicated crit machine.

Will run like this, next stage is to ‘downgrade’ to a mechanical force 1 derailleur and shifters, and older red brakes.

Etap groupset to replace the Duraace di2 on my venge eventually.

First need to scrub the rust off the bike and remove the stuck seatpost!

Removing the seatpost has stumped me so far today, made tricker as there are 2 seatpost clamp bolts, and the front half can't be removed due to the stuck seatpost

Front half is cosmetically very nice, a couple of paint chips, front headset is junk, stiff and rusty, so will scrub and replace bearings, maybe new headset with cups.

Also, octalink BB is nice and smooth, but the internals of the join on the downtube were quite rusty, mostly surface rust, easily removed with some wire wool.
Planning to remove the BB to clean up the inside, as I expect it to have caked on rust.

The clamp has stretched, so theres quite a lot of play in that junction, so need to buy a replacement clamp.

Rear half has more paint issues, and some rusty wear and tear, will probably just scrub and touch up as the Ritchey decal is largely clean.

No idea what to build it up with (came with full ultegra 9 speed and Ritchey cranks)
Could put the ultegra on, but the shifters look shit, was thinking full DA7800, but would be rad with Sram Red 10 speed.

Yes although 2x ritchey breakaways with etap could be nice..

I was thinking that this one could be a spare travel bike for my wife so that we can take two breakaways on trips.

Replacement frame clamp and mini wire brushes ordered.

Saw this, what a steal! I will have some 7700 brifters to get rid of soon if you stick with 9 speed

Still loads of careful sanding to do, particularly on the side closest to the saddle. Trying to get the shape and size as close as possible to original, and use a seatpost clamp design with the most tolerance.

More sanding!
Within 1mm of the original width, which appears to be 7mm wide and 7.75mm deep.

A bit more careful sanding to 0.5mm, and hopefully should be within the tolerance of whichever seatpost clamp will work.
