Anyone knows what brand valve extender is this?

(Seems to lost the top part to pump the tyres and struggling to remove the valve extender)

KCNC?

Looks similar but I don’t think it’s that. Dammit I didn’t want to rip the tub off to find out how these were screwed on but I might have too now.

It's not a Reynolds one? https://reynoldscycling.com/products/reynolds-valve-extenders
If so it's just screwed on. If you can't pump up the valve may be stuck closed.

The part where you unscrew is normally very close to to tub itself. Like, within the rim. You'll struggle to remove without removing the tub.

I don't get it, don't all valve extenders thread on/off the same?

Does anyone have some 27c Corsa’s They’d like to swap for some 25c ones in good nick? I’ve recently upgraded frames and have plenty of room for bigger rubber!
-

nicht but I'll take the 25s off your hands if you can't find a suitable swap :-)

Also keen on the 25s ;-)

Ok cool, I might grab a new pair and let you know. Are you still in Bristol?
-
• #6363
not anymore unfortunately - I'm in Surrey now. feel free to sell them locally though, it's no problem :-)

Happy to post. I’ll send some pics of the tread at some point and we can work out a price

have been using g-one speeds for commuting as I was thinking to do some light offroading/touring also but it has one hundred percent been pavement. Already have to replace the rear one after 3k km's. Any cheaper alternatives?

• #6366
The non-speed versions?

Rubino Pro maybe?
I've not used them myself but they are an option for next wheelset.

So far Michelin Endurance pro4 are the best winter/commute/training tire I've ever tried. Super long lasting, no flats, very fast

How big do those Michelins come up? I had a pair of 25mm Optimums (2 gens back) that were very fat, nearly 28mm, on Velocity A23 rims. But Lithion 2 now on and are close to nominal 25mm width.

Reckon I'm gonna need to change my tyres before PBP: currently on some 4 Seasons (which I've had no problems with) and I have a pair of new Conti Sport Contact II up next. Reckon they're up to the job?

if you've loosened it then tighten it back on and use a very thin allen key to poke down inside and check the valve opens/closes alright. If you can jiggle the value up and down then it should pump up fine.

Conti Sport Contact II

vs
https://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/road-bike-reviews/continental-grand-prix-4-season-20154 seaons would be slightly faster and much lighter but if you have the sport contact already ..

yeah, I saw that
Not sure why I can't make these decisions for myself really...
-
• #6374
Mines are 25-26mm in old school 17mm rims.

I bought some Continental Sport Contacts in 38, found them a bit slow. Switched to 38c Gravel Kings; much faster and nicer to ride.
Grant Petersen’s approach seems reasonable in comparison.
