Which is the ‘easier’ side. To get to the start of the mandatory parcours you’ve got to climb the Telegraphe first. Ouch.

It looks like you are tarmac roads for all of the Galibier and the descent, then turn right at the barrage Chambon onto the Sarrene road. The D211a runs from there to halfway up the Alpe too. It’s scary, cliff face on one side of the road, but drop the other. No idea if there is any gravel options there.

I’ve done it twice. Can’t resist a bargain.
