Thats my thinking. I have another longer travel bike with easton haven wheels that are more like 1850g. They feel solid under me.
That solid feel could be had with a sub 1600g carbon wheelset?

My lightest carbon wheels are just under 1600g. They seem solid enough for me, but I mostly pootle around Surrey Hills.

Long shot but I’m looking to try some 650x 2.5 or 2.6 tyres to see how they affect the ride and my bb height. If anyone has old worn tyres they want to sell cheap I’d be keen

Did some of the new north downs way route on Saturday. From Camberwell I followed the roadies out to the end of beddlestead lane then dropped down via the ridge on to the north downs way which i intended to follow to a little village just past Canterbury. I thought my gps would pick up the route there but it didn’t, this section being, as I discovered when I got to these...

I managed to bump down the steps and got to oxted then was annoyingly basically taken back to where I had left the roadies. I also managed to get lost and hit more steep steps, this time going up. I’d already done over 20 miles and a hike-a-Bike and I’d not started. My mood lifted after otford when the route got good and I had a lovely ride. At wye I thought the route could have gone a different way as there are some nice trails in the area but I understand why they take you to Canterbury. Anyway, 5 miles after that I stopped and had a cup of tea. Here’s some pics

That walkers section can be avoided. There's a bridleway not far to the west that takes you over the M25.
This is the route that I use the most https://www.cyclinguk.org/article/north-downs-way-new-gpx-route. It avoids all the footpaths and routes around all the stairs.

I am yet to get past Maidstone. That section between Sevenoaks and Snodland always kills my motivation.

Anyone got ideas what I can attach to these bosses? I'm thinking maybe a Salsa anything cage HD with a dry bag / tool roll for spare tube, tool, pump, chain link, packet a jelly babies.

Anyone done anything similar?

Did try kamoot and rwgps and con but mostly road rides and hard to filter them. Kamoot had nothing.

They're usually for mudguards

I'm thinking you'll have to check the clearance at full compression very thoroughly.
