I know someone who has one. I think he's generally very happy with it, but he's also friends with Mike so that may influence it. Are you planning to get one from Bikefix in Lambs Conduit Street?
I personally wouldn't be sure about carrying large sheets of plywood, but you could always test-ride one?

Slightly worried about the drum brakes being spongy and useless.
