Has anyone here ever bought a phone off of Ali Express? I'm looking to pick a phone up for around £200 and it looks like I'll get the most value for money going via China...
Otherwise, any recommendations in that price range for buying new?

I've not used AliExpress but I've bought off eGlobal several times with no issues.

Assuming you're in the UK and it's shipping from China you need to be aware that it may get caught by customs which can add quite a bit to the price.

I bought a Xiaomi Redmi 6 as my new work phone, let's see how it compares to my Pixel 3...
Which has been a bit sluggish since I went to the 10 Beta, can't use my banking app either which is a bit of a pain...

I'd take look at the Moto G7- really good value at around £200 and might tick off all your requirements and you can buy in the UK market without worrying about scams/tax/customs/warranty/returns.

I've never heard of Eglobal, thanks for the heads up!
@aggi hadn't thought about that - again, good to know!
@salmonchild I'm actually coming from a Motorola which I'm feeling a bit meh about, but maybe it's just because it's a motoG 3 and really showing its age!

Be wary of eGlobal, if anything goes wrong they are a nightmare to deal with... They kept me waiting for a year before finally replacing a handset... Great prices tho'...

I have a Moto G6 Plus. When I lock the screen and place it face down it does 3 quick vibrations and then 5 seconds later repeats. Long story short I can't figure out how to turn this off and want to

submerge it in a bowl of water

Got a Moto G7 plus to replace a 3 yo G3 a couple of months ago and it is screaming fast, everything opens instantly and fingerprint unlocking is so convenient. Also fast charging and comes with a case in the box.

Awesome, that's that sorted then

I think its the "do not disturb" gesture notification.
Tip: Put your phone face down on a surface to start Do Not Disturb. (To enable this gesture, open the Moto app > Features > Moto Actions > Flip for DND and turn it on.

Yes! That's it thank you. I've been trawling through the settings menu for days but forgot about moto actions

Do you still have the Huawei?

No sure if this the right place, but does anyone have a chromecast audio they never use sitting in a draw that they want rid of, want to have a mess about with one.

What do you want to do? I have one not in use right now, but I'd ideally like it back in working condition as they don't make them any more

I just want to see if it will revive an old speaker system really, see what platforms it works well with. No worries though if your wanting to keep yours, thought there might be someone wanting rid.

Nexus 5x - Is the random temporary bricking a known thing?
The phone died on me earlier in the week, with no warning. No amount of key presses, fastboot cables, shaking or witchcraft would bring it back to life.
This is the second time this has happened to a 5x of mine.
The first one, however, powered on fine, and I've restored everything that I need on it.
The second one has also just powered on.
What's going on?

Anyone got a Xiaomi Mi 9? Reviews and price look great and looks like it's a Xiaomi phone with a top camera for once!

I just got one today! Dual sim global version. Gimme a chance to set it up and I'll post a reviewette

Great yeah let me know once you've had it a week or so. I love dual sim phones. I'd be particularly interested to see how you find the camera. Ta
Finally out of contract so looking to update from the S7. Probably sticking to type and going for the Samsung s10.
Was thinking looking to Huawei but with all the issues with updates don't want to get stuck.
Is it worth hanging on and going for the 5g version...
